The Challenge

Amica was utilizing the Great Plains general ledger to consolidate its financials. Data was pushed from their source Yardi ERP into Great Plains, and this process proved difficult and overly complicated. Amica had built some great tools in budgeting and forecasting, but they were in Excel and tough to maintain. Once budgets were created, changing them was time-consuming, costing company leaders valuable decision-making advantages.

What We Did

Ascend Partners with OneStream won the RFP process against five other potential vendors because even during the consultation process, we did not sacrifice what we knew was a winning process. We asked Amica to adjust their timelines to meet a more realistic and better-quality delivery. As the only vendor to offer this honest opinion, it built rapport and trust. 

Throughout the development and implementation we followed our industry-recognized process, providing a corporate performance management solution that met their needs with exacting standards.

What We Achieved
Amica and Ascend worked together to deliver this project on time and on budget. This was a multi-disciplined team of technical and functional consolidation and planning team members. It was challenging to build out and develop both streams at the same time, but to overcome this, the project was managed closely by dedicated resources. In the end, Amica improved their processes by speeding up the close process and greatly reducing the number of budgeting iterations.

Best Outcome: A budgeting process that took up to 5 months now takes days, and is largely automated.
