NHL Power Play Networking Night 

In March, Ascend Partners brought together members of the OneStream team and prospective clients in Philadelphia, PA, for an eventful night of hockey as the Philadelphia Flyers faced off against the Toronto Maple Leafs.  

The event began with a pre-game reception at the exclusive Liberty Lofts, where finance leaders and hockey enthusiasts connected over food, drinks, and a shared appreciation for OneStream. It was a fantastic evening, combining the thrill of the game with chances to form valuable partnerships.  

We look forward to hosting more events in the upcoming year across all regions and territories. 

Splash Vegas

As one of the biggest events of the year, OneStream Splash is always a highlight and #SplashLasVegas in May was no exception. Ascend Partners was thrilled to sponsor this dynamic event, which was filled with engaging discussions, insightful presentations, and opportunities to connect with the OneStream community. We were excited to debut our newly rebranded Ascend booth in the expo hall, which quickly became a hub of activity. Attendees stopped by to experience live demos, learn about our proven methodologies and meet our team.  

Beyond the expo hall, Ascend hosted several memorable events. Our highly anticipated Splash Welcome Party, set under the dazzling lights of the Las Vegas strip, offered a perfect backdrop for networking and celebration. Meanwhile, our AI luncheons sparked meaningful conversations about the transformative potential of AI to empower finance teams and drive business strategy. Another standout moment of the conference was our customer story session, "Charting the Course: Navigating Sealed Air’s Journey from Hyperion to OneStream." Ascend’s David Jasper and Asad Haroon, alongside Sealed Air’s Jasmine Faranda, presented an engaging narrative of Sealed Air’s smooth transition to OneStream and learnings gathered along the way. This success story highlighted the power of OneStream’s extensibility and powerful capabilities, underscoring the impact of innovative solutions tailored to unique client needs. Splash 2024 was truly an unforgettable experience for our team, and we’re already looking forward to next year! 

Ascend 10th Anniversary Party 

June of this year served as a significant milestone in Ascend’s history as it marked our 10th anniversary. Founded in 2014 by Peter Popalis and Colin Sawford, Ascend was built on a vision of transforming financial management with OneStream Software. Over the past decade, our team has since grown to over 100 staff world-wide, having overseen more than 60 successful go-lives to date in the US and Canada.  

To commemorate this incredible journey, we returned to our roots in Toronto, ON, this past June for a special celebration at the iconic CN Tower. Guests ascended 114 stories to enjoy breathtaking views, exquisite cuisine, and engaging conversations. It was a memorable evening, reflecting on Ascend’s achievements, celebrating our partnerships, and looking ahead to the next chapter of growth. 

Ascend x OneStream Mining Summit 

In September, Ascend Partners and OneStream hosted a one-day mining summit in Golden, CO, bringing together industry leaders to explore OneStream’s transformative impact in mining. The event featured engaging sessions on Optimizing Consolidations, Sensible Machine Learning & AI, and integrating S/4 Hana data, as well as case studies on Life of Mine Planning and Asset Retirement Obligations. Attendees had the chance to network, share insights, and discuss the latest industry trends, making the summit a valuable platform for learning and exchanging ideas.

OneStream Connect Dallas

In October, Ascend Partners proudly sponsored OneStream Connect in Dallas, TX. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with finance leaders, exchange insights, and explore OneStream’s latest advancements. It was an inspiring event filled with meaningful conversations, cutting-edge ideas, and a shared vision for the future of modern finance. 

OneStream Wave 

In November, the Ascend team attended the OneStream Wave Conference for Developers in Orlando, FL. Over three action-packed days, our team enjoyed the chance to learn and expand their skills through insightful speaker sessions, engaging breakout discussions, and hands-on opportunities like Wave Labs. 

The conference also provided invaluable networking opportunities, from casual meetups to memorable events like Wave Night Out, where we connected with peers, exchanged ideas, and deepened our engagement with the OneStream community. The experience equipped us with fresh insights and inspiration to apply to our projects. Many thanks to OneStream for hosting such an exceptional event!  

Ascend Year End Event

To wrap up another successful year, Ascend hosted our annual year-end celebration. Held in Toronto, ON, this special event brought together team members from across Canada and the US. Joined by our special guests from OneStream and Achieve Partners, the event was a chance to honor the incredible milestones of 2024, thank our team for their hard work, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as an organization. 

The event was filled with laughter, delicious food, and shared stories as our team reflected on an extraordinary year of achievements and growth. From reconnecting with colleagues to welcoming the new faces that have joined us over the past year, the event served as a perfect way to wrap up 2024.  

Company Growth

New Hires

Ascend Partners has achieved remarkable growth in 2024, adding a record-breaking 41 new hires across all departments. This expansion aligns with the increasing market demand for OneStream in finance, boosted by its recent IPO. As a result, Ascend’s growth has created the runway for career advancement opportunities and leadership positions, with a number of team members achieving well-deserved promotions.    

Professional Development

At Ascend Partners, we proudly employ best-in-class talent and actively invest in our team’s ongoing education, creating road maps for team members to pursue training, achieve certifications and level-up their skills.
